OTE is an 11,000sq.ft. performance training facility for athletes and adults in the northern San Antonio area.  We utilize modern technological equipment and current evidence based research to design and implement results and goal oriented training programs for our athletes and clients.  Our athlete training philosophy is based on the idea that successful athletes posses several key qualities, such as POWER, EXPLOSIVENESS, MOBILITY, SPEED, QUICKNESS, FLEXIBILITY, and most importantly, a LOW RISK OF INJURY.  Athletes with these qualities have long and successful athletic careers.  Our goal is for our athletes to not only play at the next level, but to excel and set new standards.    

Coaches and Staff

The following is a quick snapshot of our coaches background and some of the sports they may have participated in at various levels of competition.  All coaches at OTE are employeed, rather than independent, which means we all train under the same philosophies that are set for the facility. Each coach hired by OTE has undergone an internship period, during which they were introduced to our training procedures, philosophies, and strategies.  This creates a unified approach to training, but still allows coaches to utilize and incorporate their own techniques, backgrounds, and personalities into their training sessions and programs. We believe this creates and environment in which athletes and clients can thrive and reach their full potential, and BEYOND.

Tony began his training career at OTE, November 2016, and trains a minimum of 160 sessions per month to date.  Tony majored in Exercise Science at Texas Lutheran University where he was also a 4-year starter on the baseball team.  After graduating in 2015, Tony continued his education at Texas State University and earned a master's degree in exercise science. While at Texas Lutheran, Tony was named to the All-Conference teams each year, while being placed on the D3Baseball.com and ABCA All-West Region Team his senior season. He is certified through the NSCA with a CSCS certification.

Training Specialties Include:

Athlete Training - All aspects of speed development, explosiveness, strength, power, vertical, etc.

Adult Personal Training - All ages and abilities (weight loss / toning / strength training / general fitness / etc.)

Sport Specifics and Skill

  • Baseball and Softball: swing velocity, exit speed, rotator cuff stability and strength, pitching (baseball only), catching, fielding, speed, explosiveness, etc.

Coach Liam is the Director of Performance here at OTE. Liam is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Liam is a former division one college quarterback and graduate from UTSA where he obtained a bachelors of science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science.
Coach Liam is extremely passionate about helping young athletes reach their full potential by not only becoming faster, stronger, and more explosive but also by ensuring that his athletes are taking proper care of their body to reduce the risk of injuries.  

Training Specialties Include:

Athlete Training - All aspects of speed development, explosiveness, strength, power, vertical, etc.

Personal Training - All ages and abilities (weight loss, toning, strength training, overall general fitness, etc.)

Caleb James

Caleb first joined the OTE team as an intern back in 2021 during his final semester at Texas State University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science (BESS).
Caleb played football at Texas State University as a kicker and has played soccer for over 18 years.
He has a background in physical therapy work and uses that to his advantage when training clients and athletes. He closely works with our on-site PT to help rehab clients/athletes into returning to play faster.
He is currently seeking his CSCS certification through the NSCA.

Armando Alvarado III, MS, CSCS

Strength and Conditioning Coach

Coach Mando is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), has his United States of America Weightlifting Level 1 Certificate (USAW L-1), and his American Council of Exercise Certified Personal Training Certificate (ACE CPT).
He graduated from Texas Tech in 2018, with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and immediately began interning at OTE. Hired as a full-time staff member in February of 2019, Armando continued to work at OTE gaining group and personal training experience. All of 2021, Armando spent his time as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Gathering Division 1 collegiate experience coaching softball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, and cheer while also receiving his Masters Degree in Health and Kinesiology with a specialization in exercise science.
Coach Mando has a passion for strength and conditioning and wants to bring his experience in a collegiate setting, and knowledge from his studies, to everyone at OTE to help give them the tools to get them to the same level, if not higher!
